Musical 'Let Me Fly' returns after three years with Ahn Jae-wook and Lee Hee-joon

The 3pm performance on 17 October is sold out to a corporate buyout, and three performances on 20 and 21 October are set aside as buyouts to be released separately.

"Let Me Fly", the time-travel musical in which a young man of 1969 wakes as an old man in 2020, has confirmed its second ticket release ahead of a third season. According to the notices on the Doosan Art Center production page and the NOL Ticket product page, the second release opens at 2pm on 22 September and covers performances from 27 October to 8 November. Both notices also state that, to prevent illegal transfer and resale, bank-transfer bookings will not be accepted from 2pm on 22 September until 11.59pm on the 25th.

The KOPIS listing has the season opening on 6 October and running to 3 January 2027. Performances are at 7.30pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 3pm and 7.30pm on Wednesdays; 3pm and 7pm on Saturdays; and 2pm and 6pm on Sundays and public holidays, with Mondays dark. There are two seat grades, R at 88,000 won and S at 66,000 won. Let Me Fly Ltd and NHN Link present; Contents Planning and SBS organise; Let Me Fly Ltd and Proslab plan and produce. Doosan Art Center gives the running time as 120 minutes without an interval and the rating as ages 8 and up.

The notices also set out which performances are already gone. The 3pm show on Saturday 17 October is sold out to a corporate buyout, and 7.30pm on 20 October and 3pm and 7.30pm on 21 October are classed as buyout performances to be released separately later. Eight further performances — on 14, 24, 28, 29 and 31 October and 4 November — have had part of their seating closed to group sales, with a note that some may include school parties. Three weeks before opening, that much buyout and group business says corporate and school demand moved first.

The cast mixes returning performers with new faces. The older Nam-won is played by Ahn Jae-wook, Lee Hee-joon, Oh Eui-sik and Lee Hyung-hoon, and Seon-hee by Bae Hae-sun, Yoon Gong-ju and Kim Ji-hyun. The young Nam-won is Yoon So-ho, Ahn Ji-hwan and Yoon Jae-ho, and Jeong-bun is Hong Ji-hee, Na Ha-na, Lee Su-bin and Park Seul-gi. Of those, Ahn Jae-wook, Lee Hee-joon, Bae Hae-sun, Yoon So-ho, Yoon Jae-ho, Lee Su-bin and Park Seul-gi are new to the production. According to The Musical's report in July, Lee Hee-joon returns to musical theatre for the first time in about 14 years, since 2012, and Yoon Jae-ho, Lee Su-bin and Park Seul-gi were cast through open auditions with odds of roughly 200 to 1.

"Let Me Fly" has a book and lyrics by Cho Min-hyung and music and arrangements by Min Chan-hong. It went through a tryout in 2020 and premiered in 2022. Doosan Art Center's introduction notes that it received six nominations at the 7th Korean Musical Awards, winning Best Musical, Best Music and Best New Actor, and six more at the 8th. KOPIS records the premiere at YES24 Stage from 22 March to 19 June 2022, the revival at the same theatre from 26 September to 10 December 2023, and a regional tour of the Uljin, Gumi and Uiseong arts centres in October and November 2024. This is the first Seoul season since December 2023.
