Synopsis
[공연소개] 1930년대 후반 경성. 조선총독부 학무국 서기관이자 일본인 프로듀서 미즈 아야코는 조선을 문화적으로 통제하기 위해 조선 청년들로 아이돌 그룹을 만들 계획을 세운다. 일본식 음악과 춤을 통해 조선 대중문화를 장악하려는 것이다. 레코드 스타의 꿈을 미끼로 모인 조선 청년 네 명은 연습생 생활 속에서 일본식 개명, 가사, 춤이 조선 문화를 지우기 위한 프로젝트임을 깨닫는다. 청년들은 굴복하지 않는다. 몰래 한국어 가사를 되살리고 한복을 입은 채 무대에 올라, 탄압받던 조선 문화를 노래하는 비밀 저항을 시작한다. 데뷔 무대에서 울려 퍼진 것은 일본의 노래가 아니라 조선의 언어와 몸짓으로 되살린 노래였다. 이름은 잊혔지만, 그들의 노래는 오늘까지 살아남는다.
