Chicago opens 5 December at LG Arts Center Seoul with Lina, Kim Su-ha and Enoch; tickets from 30 September

The dates and first sale for the 2026-2027 season of Chicago are set. According to notices posted by LG Arts Center Seoul on 15 September and by Ticketlink the following day, the production opens on Saturday 5 December and runs until Sunday 14 March 2027 at the LG SIGNATURE Hall of the LG Arts Center Seoul. Three opening-weekend performances, at 2pm and 6:30pm on 5 December and 2pm on 6 December, are previews sold at a 20% discount.

Tickets open in two stages. The first release is at 2pm on Wednesday 30 September and covers performances from 5 to 27 December. The LG Arts Center notice says sales start at the same moment on four outlets: the LG Arts Center website, NOL, Ticketlink and Seensee Company. There are six seat grades. VIP and OP seats are 170,000 won, the "Chicago seats" close to the stage are 160,000 won, and R, S and A seats are 150,000, 110,000 and 80,000 won. Booking between 30 September and 11 October earns a 15% early-bird discount on performances from the 6:30pm show on 6 December through 27 December, except for the 24 and 25 December performances.

The biggest change this season is three new faces. The presenters say auditions brought in Lina as Velma Kelly, Kim Su-ha as Roxie Hart and Enoch as Billy Flynn. Lina, who has led large-house productions including Les Misérables, Elisabeth and Sweeney Todd, appears in Chicago for the first time, and in a statement carried in the notice she referred to "an audition process that was not easy". Kim Su-ha and Enoch are also new to the show. The established company stays: Choi Jung-won and Yoon Gong-ju as Velma, Ivy and Tiffany Young as Roxie, Park Kun-hyung as Billy, Kim Young-ju and Kim Kyung-sun as Mama Morton and Cha Jung-hyun as Amos, with S. J. Kim and H. J. Jeon sharing Mary Sunshine. The ensemble numbers 17, including Choi Sung-dae, Kang In-young and Kang Dong-ju.

Ivy's return comes with a story. According to the presenters, she completed her first performance in the Broadway production of Chicago on 17 August, on which basis they describe her as "the first Korean actor to perform a lead role in Chicago on Broadway". By the presenters' count she has close to 600 Korean Chicago performances behind her. This is her first Korean season since the Broadway run.

The notice also sets out the show's history. The presenters say that since the Korean premiere in 2000 the production has given 1,729 performances to about 1.8 million people over 26 years, and that the 2024 season sold 100% of its seats. The 1996 Broadway revival is the longest-running American musical currently on Broadway, they add, and has been performed more than 36,000 times in over 525 cities in 38 countries. All of these figures are the presenters' own.

The running time is 145 minutes including a 20-minute intermission, and the show is rated for ages 14 and over (born 2013 or earlier), with high-school age and up recommended. Performances are at 7:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 3pm and 7:30pm on Friday, 2pm and 6:30pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday, with no performance on Monday. 6 and 25 December each have a matinee and an evening show. As of 17 September this season is not yet registered in KOPIS, Korea's performing-arts database, and the NOL and Ticketlink product pages are not yet open, so the seating plan and per-performance casting are expected to appear when sales begin.
