IU brings two concert films back to CGV after cancelling her September concert

IU is answering the disappointment of a cancelled September concert with her concert films. In a video posted to CGV's official channel on 18 August, ahead of her 18th debut anniversary on 18 September, IU said herself: "Both of my concert films are being re-released at CGV." IU Concert: The Golden Hour arrives first on 9 September, followed by IU Concert: The Winning on 16 September, each exclusively at CGV.

The two re-releases at a glance

The Golden Hour captures the concert of the same name held at Seoul Olympic Stadium on 17–18 September 2022, where IU became the first Korean female solo artist to headline the stadium, drawing 90,000 people across the two nights. Its 2023 release was the first Korean concert film ever shown in IMAX. The Winning documents IU's 100th solo concert, staged at Seoul World Cup Stadium on 21–22 September 2024; when it first opened in January 2025 it played in every premium format CGV offers — ScreenX, 4DX, ULTRA 4DX and IMAX. IU said The Winning will again screen in ScreenX, 4DX and ULTRA 4DX this time around.

The announcement came shortly after IU cancelled the September concert planned for Goyang Stadium in July, when her chronic patulous eustachian tube worsened, and pushed back the release of her sixth studio album at the same time. Her agency, EDAM Entertainment, said then that the concert and album schedules were being adjusted with her recovery as the first priority. In the CGV video IU added that she has side events in preparation, telling fans: "If you want to feel the emotion of the concert again, or if you missed the film last time, don't let this chance pass."
