Majesty, a new Korean musical drawn from the life of Joshua Abraham Norton — the San Franciscan who declared himself "Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico" in the 19th century — opens on 25 October at Woori Card Hall in NOL Theater Daehangno, Seoul. The run continues to 15 November.

The production was selected for the 2026 large-scale musical tryout support programme, presented by the Korea Arts Management Service with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The scheme funds fully staged tryout runs for new Korean musicals heading toward a main-house production, so that a work's readiness and commercial strength can be tested before it goes to market at home or abroad.

Under the cast announcement, the role of Norton — who proclaims himself emperor in a worn military coat and plumed hat — is shared by Eom Ki-jun and Park Jae-yoon. Park Jung-won and Kim Woo-seok play Arthur, a trainee reporter chasing a scoop. Kim Soo-ro, who has led Double K Entertainment, serves as executive producer and appears on stage himself as Galahad.

Kim Seong-yeon wrote the book and lyrics, Kim Eun-young composed and music-directs, Seong Jong-wan directs and Shin Sun-ho choreographs. A ten-strong ensemble and a nine-piece live orchestra build 19th-century San Francisco on stage. As a tryout run, it has no announced on-sale date yet, and the production was not registered with KOPIS at the time of writing.
