What went wrong

Restricted sightlines from part of the seating at BIGBANG's ‘BIGBANG 2026 WORLD TOUR IN GOYANG’, presented with Coupang Play, have been put before the Korea Fair Trade Commission. On 28 August the Seoul Regional Fair Trade Office received a complaint under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, asking it to determine whether the sale, disclosure and inspection process for the FLOOR R blocks (seats F1 and F2) was adequate, and whether refunds are owed. The three shows ran from 21 to 23 August at Goyang Stadium's main stadium.

The F1 and F2 seats in question were sold at KRW 253,000 as FLOOR R, the second most expensive tier after standing VIP at KRW 275,000. The blocks sat immediately to the left and right in front of the main stage, but concertgoers say that a tall connecting and thrust-stage structure running between the audience and the main stage blocked much of the view towards it from seats laid out on the flat. After the shows, photographs taken from the section appeared online alongside accounts such as “when the members were standing on the main stage you could barely see the tops of their heads”.

The question is when buyers were told

The other central issue in the complaint is timing. YG Entertainment's first performance notice, published on 15 June, made no separate mention of possible restricted views from the FLOOR R seats. The warning about possible restricted view and sound, together with the line that “cancellation, exchange or refund on the grounds of a restricted view is not possible on the day of the performance”, is reported to have been given only later, in the 7 July notice releasing returned seats and additional seats created once the design was set. The complainant is also said to have asked what buyers in the June and post-July releases were actually shown before payment, and whether a seat-by-seat sightline inspection was carried out after the staging was finalised on 18 August, three days before the first show.

A comparison being drawn is the BLACKPINK concert held at the same stadium last year. On that occasion YG classified seats expected to have restricted views as a separate restricted-view tier and sold them at KRW 99,000, and ran a full refund process for anyone who applied from sections where unforeseen sightline problems arose. This case, however, is only at the stage of a complaint being received: no finding of a breach and no refund liability has been established.
