Cheonan Children’s Dream Nuriteo: 430 parking bays, booking, and getting there

Cheonan Children’s Dream Nuriteo (천안어린이꿈누리터) is a children’s cultural centre at 39 Yetsicheong-gil in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, between the district office and the public health centre. If you are going for a performance, three things are worth knowing in advance: the car park has only one way in, the theatres are on the 2nd floor, and tickets are collected on the ground floor.

How many parking spaces are there, and what does it cost?

430 bays across levels B2 and B3, open 09:00~18:00. The official parking page breaks the two levels down separately, and each has its own EV, compact, accessible and expectant-mother zones.

Adding up each level’s categories gives exactly the 209 and 221 totals the official page publishes.

One thing to know: this car park is not exclusively the venue’s. The orange-marked zones on B2 and B3 are its priority bays, and the official guidance says that if those are full you may use the Haengbok dormitory and Dongnam-gu office bays.

Where is the entrance to the car park?

There is only one. Driving straight from Cheonan Station toward the Dongnam-gu health centre, the underground entrance appears on your right, and that gate is entrance-only. The gate on the opposite side, toward Cheonan Station and Beodeul-yukgeori, has been exit-only since December 2021. If your satnav routes you to the exit you will have to come back around, so set your approach before you arrive.

From the car park, take the venue’s dedicated lift up to the ground-floor lobby.

Coaches cannot use the underground levels. They park in the outdoor lot diagonally opposite the main entrance, which takes three 45-seat coaches plus one accessible vehicle. Groups should call ahead on 041-522-7199.

How do I book, and where do I pick up tickets?

Booking is either online through the venue’s own website or on the door. On-the-door sales depend on seats remaining, so booking ahead is safer.

Tickets are collected at the ground-floor information desk. QR codes are scanned at the theatre desk on the 2nd floor, so the order is: collect on the ground floor, then go up.

Refund rules differ between the play zone and performances. For the play zone, under the amended ordinance, anyone booking from 11 November 2024 onward can cancel only up to the day before, with no same-day cancellation. For performances you can cancel until 23:59 the day before, and there are no refunds on the day.

The official guidance asks you to arrive at the theatre 30 minutes before the performance and to be seated 20 minutes before. Once it has started, latecomers are admitted only to the latecomers’ seats.

Is the main hall 296 seats or 293?

Both are correct — they count different things. The venue’s official hire page gives the Kkumnuri Grand Theatre as "296 seats (293 standard / 3 wheelchair)". 293 counts only standard seats; 296 adds the three wheelchair spaces. The KOPIS facility record (FC002779-01) also gives 296, so on a whole-house basis the two sources agree.

The studio works the same way: officially "100 seats (98 standard / 2 wheelchair)", and 100 in KOPIS.

If a ticketing seat map shows only 293, that is not an error. Wheelchair spaces often do not appear as selectable seats.

Which floor are the theatres on, and where should I sit?

Both are on the 2nd floor, along with toilets and a barrier-free kiosk.

The Kkumnuri Grand Theatre is laid out in three blocks — centre plus left and right — and the house is raked, so the back rows are not blocked by the row in front. With a child, an aisle seat is the practical choice for getting out and back.

The Jayu Studio Theatre has retractable stepped seating that can be moved to the back of the room. With only six rows, even the last one is close to the stage.

Where are the lockers and pram storage?

There are two locker banks: bank A in the ground-floor lobby and bank B in the level-B1 corridor by the play zone. The official amenities page gives each as up to 150 lockers.

There are also two pram stores, of different sizes: four prams on the ground floor and five on B1. Prams are not loaned out. The ground floor also has a pram steriliser.

Wheelchairs are loaned at the ground-floor desk — four adult and two child chairs.

Bulky items are not allowed into the auditorium, so use a locker before you go up.

What does the play zone cost?

4,000 won for a child (0~13) and 4,000 won for an accompanying adult, or 2,000 won each for Cheonan residents. Groups pay 3,000 won, or 1,500 won for resident groups. Performance tickets are separate.

The play zone runs in timed sessions: 10:00~12:00, 13:00~15:00 and 15:30~17:30, with cleaning between them. Capacity is 200 per session on weekdays and 230 at weekends.

Registered disabled visitors, national merit recipients and their families, people aged 65 and over, members of single-parent households, and recipients of the righteous-persons scheme and their families get 50% off; basic livelihood and medical benefit recipients and residents of social welfare facilities are admitted free. You must show the relevant documents when collecting tickets.

How do I get there by public transport?

Seven minutes on foot from exit 1 of Cheonan Station on Line 1. Which bus stop you want depends on where you start.

By car, the official guidance is 15 minutes from the Cheonan IC, entering at underground Gate 1.
