Dream Forest Arts Center (꿈의숲아트센터) in Seoul has two halls. The Performance Hall has 283 seats and the Concert Hall 301, each on a single floor with 3 wheelchair spaces included. First-timers do well in the centre block, rows E–J in the Performance Hall and rows G–M in the Concert Hall. Park at the Arts Center car park by the park's west gate (74 spaces, ₩300 per 10 minutes); ticket holders who register at the 2F information desk get 1 hour 20 minutes free.

We checked this guide against the official Sejong Center pages for Dream Forest Arts Center (seating plans, halls, parking, transport, amenities) and the hall records in KOPIS, Korea's national performing-arts database, on 27 October 2026. Seat suggestions come from the official seating plans and official seat-view photos, not from our own visits.

How are the Performance Hall and the Concert Hall different?

The Dream Forest Arts Center Performance Hall is a multipurpose hall with no raised stage. The Concert Hall is a classical-music hall with the stage one step above the seating. They share a building but call for different seat choices, so check which hall your ticket is for.

Do the official seat counts match KOPIS?

Yes. KOPIS lists the Performance Hall at 283 seats and the Concert Hall at 301, each with 3 accessible seats, exactly as the official website does. Counting the seats on the official seating plans one by one gives the same totals for both halls.

HallOur count from the planOfficialKOPIS
Performance HallRow A 16 + rows B–M 12 × 22 = 280, plus 3 wheelchair283283
Concert HallRow A 14 + rows B–O 14 × 20 + row P 4 = 298, plus 3 wheelchair301301

The screen-reader text on the same seating-plan pages disagrees, though. For the Performance Hall it says "305 seats, rows B–N", counting a row N that is not on the plan. For the Concert Hall it says "319 seats" and gives rows O and P 11 seats each, while the plan shows 20 in row O and 4 in row P. The real layout is the one where the plan and KOPIS agree: 283 and 301.

What does the Performance Hall seating plan look like?

The Dream Forest Arts Center Performance Hall has 13 rows, A to M, split by two aisles into a left block (seats 1–6), a centre block (7–16) and a right block (17–22). Rows B–M have 22 seats each, and the centre of the centre block is seats 11 and 12.

  • Row A: left 1–6, centre 7, 8, 12, 13, right 14–19, with wheelchair spaces at 9–11. That is why row A's right block starts at 14.
  • Aisle seats: 6 (left), 7 and 16 (centre), 17 (right).

According to the official description, each row rises about 10 cm more than in a typical hall, so heads in front block less of the view even from the back.

Which rows have the best view in the Performance Hall?

In the Dream Forest Arts Center Performance Hall, rows E–J in the centre block (seats 7–16) give the best balance of the whole stage and performers' faces. With no stage step, the front rows feel close. The steep rake keeps the back rows clear. The official website has seat-view photos from eight seats: C12, D5, G11, G20, J2, J7, J16 and M17. Five of them are below.

Row C is close enough for facial expressions and dancers' footwork, but you will turn your head to take in both edges of the stage.

The side blocks are only six seats wide, so not much of the far side of the stage is cut off. If you sit at the side, the aisle seats 6 and 17 are the closest to a straight-on view.

How is the Concert Hall seating plan different?

The Dream Forest Arts Center Concert Hall has 16 rows, A to P, three more than the Performance Hall. Its centre block is narrower, at 8 seats per row (7–14). Rows B–O have 20 seats each, and the back row, P, has only 4 seats at the two ends.

  • Row A: left 1–6, centre 7 and 11, right 12–17, with wheelchair spaces at 8–10.
  • Row P (back): only 4 seats, 1 and 2 on the left and 3 and 4 on the right.
  • Aisle seats: 6 (left), 7 and 14 (centre), 15 (right).

The official description calls the Concert Hall a dedicated classical venue designed for ample reverberation. Its acoustic reflectors can change height and angle, which the venue says removes acoustic dead seats. Because the stage is one step up, the front row looks slightly upward.

Where should I sit in the Concert Hall for sound and view?

In the Dream Forest Arts Center Concert Hall, rows G–M in the centre block (seats 7–14) balance a straight-on view with a comfortable distance. Row C puts the performers close but has you looking up. From row M back, the lighting rig over the stage is in frame too. The official Concert Hall seat-view photos cover eight seats: C11, D5, G9, G18, I2, L20, M13 and N4. Four are below.

In the official photos, the piano's keyboard and bench are on the left as seen from the audience. To watch the pianist's hands at a recital, choose the left block or the left half of the centre block (seats 7–10). Stage set-ups can change between performances.

Which subway station do I take a bus from?

Dream Forest Arts Center is not walkable from a subway station. The closest option is a bus from Miasageori Station (Line 4) to the 북서울꿈의숲(서문) (Dream Forest, west gate) stop. From the east-gate stop it is about another 10 minutes on foot.

Bus 149 and village buses Gangbuk 09, Gangbuk 11 and Seongbuk 14 also stop at the east gate. You walk through the park to reach the building, so arrive 20–30 minutes early for an evening show.

Is there anywhere to eat or stop before the show?

There is a convenience store at the B1 entrance of Dream Forest Arts Center. From the 2F outdoor exit, an outdoor inclined lift goes up to the Chinese restaurant Meilyn (2F, 11:30–21:00) and the observatory (3F). The observatory is open 10:00–18:00 from March to October and 10:00–17:00 from November to February, closed Mondays. The Western restaurant La Foresta is in the park's Changpowon garden (11:00–21:00, closed the first and third Mondays).

In short

  1. Check whether your ticket is for the Performance Hall (283 seats) or the Concert Hall (301). The seating plans, the official counts and KOPIS all agree on these numbers.
  2. For a first visit, the centre block is the safe choice: rows E–J in the Performance Hall, G–M in the Concert Hall.
  3. Park at the west-gate Arts Center car park (74 spaces) and register at the 2F desk for 1 hour 20 minutes free. The east-gate car park gets no discount.
