These details were checked on 26 October 2026 against 을숙도문화회관 (Eulsukdo Arts Center)'s own website — its venue page, main hall seating chart, small hall seating chart, facility overview and directions — and against the full text of the Saha-gu and Busan parking ordinances, then compared with the seat counts registered in KOPIS, Korea's national performing-arts database.

How many seats does the Eulsukdo Arts Center main hall have?

The Eulsukdo Arts Center main hall (대공연장) has 709 seats — 480 on the ground floor and 229 in the balcony — plus 8 wheelchair spaces counted separately. It is a two-level balcony hall designed for theatre, dance, musicals and concerts, with a 672.5㎡ stage. The center opened on 5 October 2002 in Saha-gu, Busan, on Eulsukdo island at the mouth of the Nakdong River; the small hall followed on 16 February 2006.

Is it 709 or 708 seats, and why does KOPIS say 717?

Adding up the row-by-row tables gives 709. The venue's seating-chart page is headed "총 708석" (708 seats in total), but the row tables on that same page sum to 480 on the ground floor (A 26, B 28, C 30, D 32, E 16, F 28, G 30, H 32, I–O 34 each, P 20) and 229 in the balcony (2A 25, 2B 27, 2C 27, 2D 29, 2E 23, 2F 25, 2G 27, 2H 27, 2I 19). That is 709, the same figure as the venue page, so the 708 in the header looks like a typo.

KOPIS lists the main hall at 717 seats and the small hall at 210. Both are exactly the official seat count plus the wheelchair spaces (709 + 8 and 208 + 2). So when a ticketing site says 717, that figure includes the wheelchair spaces. The small hall's 208 also matches its own row table (A 22, B 25, C 26, D 29, E 20, F 23, G 24, H 25, I 14).

How is the ground floor laid out?

The ground floor of the Eulsukdo Arts Center main hall runs from row A to row P, 16 rows, split by seat number into a left block (1–10), a centre block (11–24, 14 seats a row) and a right block (25–34). A cross aisle between rows E and F divides the front section (A–E) from the rear (F–P).

  • Rows A–D get shorter toward the stage, from 26 seats in row A (A5–A30) to 32 in row D (D2–D33).
  • Row E has only the 16 centre seats E10–E25, with four wheelchair spaces on each side — eight in all.
  • The rear starts at 28 seats in row F; rows I through O are the widest at 34 seats each.
  • The back row, P, has no centre block — just P1–P10 and P25–P34, 20 seats.

Where are the best seats in the Eulsukdo Arts Center main hall?

For a first visit, take the centre block of ground-floor rows F–H; to see actors' faces, the centre of rows B–D; for dance, ballet or choirs, the centre of balcony rows 2A–2B. These picks are based on the structure of the official seating chart and can change with the stage set-up.

PickSeatsBest forWhy

Ground floor B–D, centre11–24Plays, recitalsClose enough for expressions; easier on the neck than row A

Row F sits right behind the cross aisle, so there is extra legroom and it is easy to get in and out. Row A tends to make you look up at the stage, so one or two rows back is more comfortable. In the balcony, row 2A has nobody in front of it, and the centre block is narrower than downstairs — nine seats a row (11–19).

Which seats should I think twice about?

At the Eulsukdo Arts Center main hall, check the sightline before booking the far ends of the front ground-floor rows, the rear ground-floor rows, and the back balcony row, 2I.

  • The ends of rows A–D (seats in the low single digits and the 30s) are close to the stage but at an angle, so the far side of the stage can be partly out of view.
  • The rear ground-floor rows sit under the balcony overhang, which can cut off the top of the stage (lighting, surtitles). Check the ticketing site's seat-view notes.
  • Balcony row 2I is a short row of 19 seats (2I6–2I24) and the furthest from the stage.

Where are the wheelchair spaces, and how do I book one?

The Eulsukdo Arts Center main hall has eight wheelchair spaces, four on each side of ground-floor row E; the small hall has two. Row E is level with the cross aisle, which makes access easy. Booking arrangements vary by show, so call the performance team (051-220-5811~5814) in advance.

How do I get from Hadan Station to the Eulsukdo Arts Center?

From Busan Metro Line 1 Hadan Station, use the bus transfer centre at exits 3 and 4, take any bus heading toward Myeongji, and get off at the 을숙도문화회관 (Eulsukdo Arts Center) stop. The venue's directions page puts it at one stop, about a minute's ride. After the show, catch a bus back toward Hadan from the stop across the road.

Is parking free if I'm seeing a show at the Eulsukdo Arts Center?

Yes, for the first three hours. Article 7(1)(2) of the Saha-gu parking ordinance (부산광역시 사하구 주차장 설치 및 관리 조례, version in force from 8 May 2026) reads: "vehicles of audiences attending performances at Eulsukdo Arts Center: exempt for 3 hours." Get your attendance confirmed at the center's information desk; time beyond three hours is charged.

The same article applies the larger discount when two grounds overlap, and for anything it does not cover it defers to the Busan city parking ordinance. Under the city ordinance, compact cars (under 1,000cc) and eco-friendly cars displaying the sticker get 50% off, and registered disabled drivers get the first hour free and 50% off after that. Confirm the details with the facilities team (051-220-5801).

Where can I park at the Eulsukdo Arts Center, and what does it cost?

There are four lots around the Eulsukdo Arts Center: Eulsukdo Arts Center lots 1 and 2 right beside the building, the Eulsukdo public car park (을숙도공영주차장, 334 spaces, 1149-29 Hadan-dong) to the north-east, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Busan (부산현대미술관) lot to the west. The venue counts 606 spaces including the nearby lots.

When the source blog post was written, the Saha-gu public rate was given as ₩300 for 30 minutes, ₩600 an hour and ₩2,400 for four hours. This check did not reach the rate schedule itself (an annex to the Busan ordinance), so if you plan to stay beyond the three free hours, confirm the current rate with the facilities team (051-220-5801).

  • The five-day rotation is over. Some guides still describe the MoCA Busan lot as subject to the 5부제 licence-plate rotation, but the public car park rotation was lifted nationwide at midnight on 1 July 2026 (Korea Policy Briefing, 30 June 2026).
  • When it fills up. Even the guide for the center's own children's facility, 을숙도 들락날락, says to use the paid public car park when the lots are full. At weekends the football and baseball crowds compete for space, so arrive 30–40 minutes before the show.
  • Satnav. The center is 25 Nakdongnam-ro 1233beon-gil; for the public car park enter 을숙도공영주차장 or 1149-29 Hadan-dong.

How is the small hall different from the main hall?

The Eulsukdo Arts Center small hall (소공연장) has 208 seats, plus 2 wheelchair spaces, and a 147㎡ stage. It has nine rows, A–I; the widest, row D, has 29 seats and the back row, I, has 14. With far less seating and stage than the main hall (709 seats, 672.5㎡), it mostly hosts chamber music and small-scale shows.

In short

  1. The main hall has 709 seats (480 ground, 229 balcony, plus 8 wheelchair spaces); KOPIS's 717 includes the wheelchair spaces, and the "708" atop the seating chart does not match its own row totals.
  2. Safe all-rounder: ground floor F–H centre (11–24); for faces, ground floor B–D centre; for dance and ballet, balcony 2A–2B centre (11–19).
  3. It is one bus stop toward Myeongji from Hadan Station exits 3–4, and show-goers park free for three hours in Saha-gu's public lots.

Checked on 26 October 2026 against the Eulsukdo Arts Center website (venue, seating charts, overview, directions), the Saha-gu parking ordinance (in force from 8 May 2026), the Busan parking ordinance (in force from 8 April 2026) and KOPIS venue records. Tickets are sold through the 공연예매·전시예약 (tickets and reservations) menu at the top of the official website.
