Gimpo Art Hall seating chart and parking: 503 seats block by block, a 65-car basement and the 2,000-won show rate (checked October 2026)
Gimpo Art Hall seats 503 (320 on level 1, 183 on level 2) in just 12 and 7 rows, so every seat is close. The 65-car basement car park costs 600 won for 30 minutes or 2,000 won for the day with a show ticket; if it is full, the 163-space Sau Jaju public car park is next door.

The auditorium at 김포아트홀 (Gimpo Art Hall, the city's first public performing-arts venue, run by the Gimpo Cultural Foundation) has 503 seats: 320 on level 1 and 183 on level 2. With only 12 rows downstairs and 7 upstairs, no seat is far from the stage. The basement car park holds 65 cars and charges 600 won for the first 30 minutes, or a flat 2,000 won for the day if you show a performance ticket.
We checked the Gimpo Cultural Foundation's Gimpo Art Hall page and directions page, the seating chart (August 2022) and section drawing they link to, and the city's Gimpo Smart Parking portal in October 2026. We counted the seating chart block by block against the official per-level totals, and compared everything with the venue's record in KOPIS, Korea's national performing-arts database.

How many seats does Gimpo Art Hall have, and how are the blocks laid out?
Gimpo Art Hall seats 503: 320 on level 1 (including 6 wheelchair spaces) and 183 on level 2. Level 1 has a front section (blocks 가 Ga, 나 Na, 다 Da) and a back section (라 Ra, 마 Ma, 바 Ba); level 2 has blocks 사 Sa, 아 A and 자 Ja, nine blocks in all. The foundation describes it as a hall suited to plays, chamber music and recitals.

Counting the official seating chart block by block gives the figures below. The 314 regular seats on level 1 plus 6 wheelchair spaces make the official 320, and level 2's 183 matches the official figure too.
| Level | Blocks | Rows | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1, front | Ga · Na · Da | 5 | 33 · 62 · 33 (128) |
| 1, back | Ra · Ma · Ba | 7 | 49 · 88 · 49 (186) |
| 1, very back | Wheelchair | 3 each side | 6 |
| 2 | Sa · A · Ja | 7 | 42 · 99 · 42 (183) |
Against our KOPIS data: KOPIS lists Gimpo Art Hall at 503 seats, exactly the foundation's figure.

How do the seat numbers work?
Seats at Gimpo Art Hall are numbered straight through each block, not by row and seat. Block Ma, for example, runs from 1 to 88: the first row is 1–13 and the second 14–25. You cannot tell the row from the number alone, so keep the seating chart open when you book.
- Cross aisle: an aisle separates the front and back sections of level 1, so the first row of blocks Ra, Ma and Ba has open space in front.
- Center blocks: blocks Na and Ma on level 1 have 11–13 seats a row, and block A on level 2 has 12–15; the side blocks have 6–7.

Where are the best seats at Gimpo Art Hall?
At Gimpo Art Hall, sit in block Ma seats 1–38 on level 1 for a comfortable head-on view, block Na seats 26–62 on level 1 to see the actors' faces, and block A seats 1–44 on level 2 for the whole stage picture. The hall publishes no official seat-view photos, so these picks come from the seating chart and the section drawing.
| Seats | Where | Best for | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Ma 1–38 | First 3 rows of the back section | Musicals, concerts, family shows | Open aisle in front, and the rake steepens from here |
| Level 1 Na 26–62 | Rows 3–5 of the front section | Plays, recitals, chamber music | A row or two back from the closest block, so the whole stage fits |
| Level 2 A 1–44 | First 3 rows of level 2 | Dance, choir, orchestra | Movement and lighting at a glance, and level 2 is only 7 rows deep |

A few seats are worth a second thought before you book:
- The front row (block Na 1–12): closest to the stage, but you may be looking up. The section drawing shows the front section of level 1 has a gentle rake.
- The outer ends of the side blocks: facing the stage, the left blocks (Ga, Ra, Sa) are most angled at the first number of each row, the right blocks (Da, Ba, Ja) at the last.
- The back rows of level 1: the section drawing shows level 2 overhead as you go back. It does not block the stage, but it feels less open.
The 6 wheelchair spaces are at the very back of level 1, three on each side.
How big is the Gimpo Art Hall car park, and what does it cost?
The Gimpo Art Hall car park is on basement levels 1–2 and holds 65 cars (including 3 accessible spaces and 2 EV chargers). It is open 07:00–22:00 every day. The first 30 minutes cost 600 won, and with a performance ticket the whole day is 2,000 won. The foundation asks visitors to take public transport if they can, because space is tight.
| Rate | |
|---|---|
| First 30 minutes | 600 won |
| Up to 2 hours | 200 won per 10 minutes |
| Over 2 hours | 400 won per 10 minutes |
| Day maximum | 6,000 won |
| Show or event visitors | 2,000 won for the day (show your ticket) |
The foundation's own site gives two capacities: 65 cars (3 accessible) on the directions page and 60 cars (2 accessible) on the venue page. Either way it is small for a show night, so aim to arrive 40 minutes to an hour early.

Is the ticket-holder rate always the better deal?
No. At Gimpo Art Hall, a stay of 1 hour 40 minutes or less costs 2,000 won or under at the normal rate, the same as or cheaper than the ticket rate. By the rate card, 1 hour 30 minutes is 1,800 won, 1 hour 40 minutes is 2,000 won, and 2 hours is 2,400 won. Three hours for a two-hour show is 4,800 won (600 + 1,800 + 2,400), so showing your ticket saves 2,800 won. Check how it is applied when you pay at the exit.
The foundation's directions page also lists these reductions:
| Who | Reduction |
|---|---|
| Compact cars (1,000 cc or less), low-emission cars | 50% off |
| Families with 2 children | First 2 hours free, then 50% off |
| Gyeonggi residents with 3+ children | Free (with proof, such as a multi-child card) |
| Drivers 65 and over | 50% off (with senior-driver safety training in the past year) |
| Cars carrying a pregnant passenger | 50% off (with proof) |
| Disabled drivers, national merit recipients | First 2 hours free, then 50% off |
| Holders of an outstanding-volunteer card, driving | First 2 hours free, then 50% off |
| Electric cars while charging | First 2 hours free, then 50% off |
| No-drive-day and car-sharing program cars | 20% off |
Where can I park if the car park is full?
If the Gimpo Art Hall car park is full, the Sau Jaju public car park next door (32 Dolmun-ro, 163 spaces) is the closest. A little farther, the Sau 2 public car park (16 Dolmun-ro) has 94 spaces. According to the Gimpo Smart Parking portal, both charge 600 won for the first 30 minutes, then 300 won per 10 minutes, with a day maximum of 7,000 won.
| Public car park | Address | Spaces | Breakdown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sau Jaju | 32 Dolmun-ro | 163 | 6 accessible, 7 compact, 6 EV, 30 allotted to monthly passes |
| Sau 2 | 16 Dolmun-ro | 94 | 3 accessible, 7 compact, 6 EV, 28 allotted to monthly passes |
- Charging hours: 09:00–24:00. Public holidays and midnight to 09:00 are free, and so are the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays.
- Live availability: on the Gimpo Smart Parking portal.
- Which is cheaper: three hours in a public car park costs 5,100 won, so for a weekday evening show the Art Hall car park with your ticket (2,000 won) is cheaper. On a public holiday the public car parks are free.
