Guri Art Hall parking and Cosmos Theater seat views: free from 1 hour before to 1 hour after the show, best seats rows 8–14 (checked October 2026)

At Guri Art Hall, parking is free with a same-day show ticket from 1 hour before curtain until 1 hour after the show ends, then ₩200 per 10 minutes. In the 600-seat Cosmos Theater, the center block (seats 7–19) of floor 1, rows 8–14, shows the whole stage and the performers' faces; if the hall's lot is full, Guri City Hall's lots and a 113-space temporary lot opened in August 2026 charge the same rate.

Guri Art Hall (구리아트홀) is the Guri Cultural Foundation's performing arts center, right next to Guri City Hall at 453 Achasan-ro, Guri, Gyeonggi-do. Its main stage, the 600-seat Cosmos Theater (코스모스대극장), hosts musicals, concerts, classical music and family shows. Parking is free around a performance, but the lot is small, so on busy days it helps to know the City Hall lots and the new temporary lot as well.

We checked the Guri Cultural Foundation's official pages in October 2026: directions and parking, the Cosmos Theater page and seating charts, visitor facilities, and the FAQ. We counted the seating charts row by row against the official seat total and compared them with the KOPIS (Korea Performing Arts Box Office Information System) records we hold. The temporary lot is from August 2026 news coverage of Guri City's announcement.

Is parking free at Guri Art Hall if I have a show ticket?

Yes. According to the Guri Cultural Foundation's official parking guide, audience members with a same-day performance ticket park free from 1 hour before the show starts until 1 hour after it ends. After that, the general rate applies: ₩200 per 10 minutes. The lot is open 07:00–23:00.

Here is the official rate card.

VisitorFree timeAfter the free time
Performance audience1 hour before start to 1 hour after the end (same-day ticket)₩200 per 10 min
Exhibition visitors3 hours (same-day exhibition ticket)₩200 per 10 min
Arts Academy students1 hour in total, before and after class₩200 per 10 min
General visitorsFirst 60 minutes₩200 per 10 min, day pass ₩5,000

For a 2-hour show starting at 7:30 pm, arriving at 6:30 pm and leaving by 10:30 pm is free. Going 30 minutes over costs ₩600. The foundation's FAQ says parking is free "when you present your performance ticket", so keep your ticket or booking confirmation until you exit.

Exemptions and discounts follow the enforcement rules of Guri City's ordinance on City Hall parking fees (Article 2), and they cannot be combined.

Where do I park if the Art Hall lot is full?

Use the Guri City Hall lots next door (② and ③ on the map, including the tower car park). The lots are run as one, so the rate is the same whichever entrance you use, and you can enter at the Art Hall and leave through the City Hall main gate, or the other way round.

① Guri Art Hall lot, ② Guri City Hall lot (with tower parking), ③ Guri City Hall lot, with entry and exit directions (source: Guri Cultural Foundation)
  • ① Guri Art Hall lot: the closest, entered directly from the road in front of the hall.
  • ② and ③ Guri City Hall lots: the foundation says these are "more comfortable" when the Art Hall lot is busy.
  • Leaving after the show: if the Art Hall exit is jammed, drive round through the City Hall lot, which lets you exit in either direction.

The official directions page also gives a reason the original blog post left out: construction of the Guri Women's Hall has made the lot very cramped, and visitors are asked to use public transport where possible. So the squeeze is tied to the building work; until it ends, allow extra time.

On top of that, a 113-space temporary lot near City Hall has been open since 27 August 2026. Guri City built it on a 4,619 m² site in Gyomun-dong; you drive in through the City Hall or Guri Art Hall main entrance and follow the internal road, and it charges the same rate as the City Hall lots (Maeil Ilbo, The Segye, August 2026). When we checked in October 2026, the foundation's own parking page did not yet mention it.

How do I get there from Guri Station without a car?

From Guri Station on the Gyeongui–Jungang Line, take exit 1 or 2, cross the road and walk 15–20 minutes. Or take village bus 6 to the Guri-Namyangju Tax Office (구리남양주세무서) or Kumho Apartment (금호아파트) stop.

TypeRoutes
Regular busesGu1, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2000-1, 23, 51, 97, 96-1 (weekdays)
Village buses6, 6-1
Express bus1-1 (rush-hour service)

Since 10 August 2024, the Line 8 extension (Byeollae Line) also stops at Guri Station. The foundation's walking directions are for Gyeongui–Jungang Line exits 1 and 2, so if you come by Line 8, check the exit on a map app.

By car, set your navigation to "구리아트홀" or "구리시청". The official directions say that from Jamsil or Hanam you make a U-turn at the Tax Office Entrance junction (세무서입구삼거리) and take the road on the foundation's right; from Sangbong you turn right toward Guri City Hall at the Gyomun crossroads.

How many seats does the Cosmos Theater have, and how are they laid out?

The Guri Cultural Foundation lists the Cosmos Theater at 600 seats in total, including 6 accessible seats, and the KOPIS record we hold also says 600. Floor 1 has rows 1–19 plus wheelchair spaces in row 20; floor 2 has rows 1–6.

Cosmos Theater floor 2 seating chart: rows 1–5 in three blocks, row 6 in the center block only

Counting the numbered seats on the official charts row by row gives this:

FloorRowsSeats per rowSubtotal
1Row 1Nos. 3–6, 7–19, 20–23: 2121
1Rows 2–3Nos. 2–6, 7–19, 20–24: 2346
1Rows 4–19Nos. 1–25: 25400
1Row 20Wheelchair spaces at both endsMarked separately
2Rows 1–5Nos. 1–25: 25125
2Row 6Nos. 7–19: 1313

The charts show 467 numbered seats on floor 1 and 138 on floor 2, 605 in total. That is 5 more than the official 600 (which already includes the 6 accessible seats), and the gap widens if the wheelchair spaces are added. The two official sources disagree, so we print both rather than correct either; check the seats actually on sale in the booking screen for each show. Either way, about three-quarters of the seats are on floor 1.

Four things to know from the charts:

  • Seats are numbered in three blocks. Facing the stage: 1–6 on the left, 7–19 in the center (13 per row), 20–25 on the right.
  • A cross aisle runs between rows 9 and 10 on floor 1, so row 10 has open space in front.
  • Rows 1–3 on floor 1 have shorter side blocks. Row 1 has only seats 3–6 and 20–23; rows 2 and 3 have 2–6 and 20–24.
  • Row 6 on floor 2 is center block only (seats 7–19). On both floors the doors are at the back corners.

The foundation says the theater was designed with generous seat spacing and a raked section planned around sightlines, with a 729.01 m² stage, an orchestra pit and fly machinery that moves at 80 m per minute. The smaller Yuchaekkot Theater (유채꽃소극장) in the same building has 280 seats in KOPIS.

Where are the best seats in the Cosmos Theater?

For the whole stage and the performers' faces at once, floor 1, rows 8–14, center block (seats 7–19) is the safest choice. All the views below are the official photos the foundation attaches to its seating chart.

View of the stage from floor 1, row 8, seat 10: the stage fills the view and the front of the stage floor is visible

Floor 1, row 8, seat 10: the stage fills your view and you can still see the front of the stage floor. The seat backs in front sit below stage level, which suits plays and musicals where you want both expressions and movement.

View of the stage from floor 1, row 10, seat 17, with the cross aisle clear in front

Row 10 sits just behind the cross aisle, so there is nothing directly in front and it is easy to get in and out. Seat 17 is right of center yet the stage looks almost head-on — a good pick for family shows where you may need to step out with a child.

View of the stage from floor 1, row 14, seat 11, with the proscenium and side walls symmetrical

Row 14, seat 11: the stage looks smaller than from row 8, but the proscenium and side walls sit symmetrically in view. For concerts and classical music, where lighting and sound balance matter more than faces, this is plenty.

What do the front row, the sides and the wheelchair spaces see?

The front row on floor 1 is closest to the performers, but the stage floor is almost at eye level, so you see little of the stage's depth. The far side seats are angled, and the back rows sit under the floor 2 overhang, which cuts off the top of the view but not the stage.

View from floor 1, row 1, seat 13: the stage front wall directly ahead and the stage floor near eye level
View from floor 1, row 1, seat 13 (source: Guri Cultural Foundation)

Row 1, seat 13 is front and nearly dead center. It is great for seeing a favorite performer up close, but you may need to look up to take in the whole stage.

View from floor 1, row 5, seat 16: the stage framed head-on between the two speaker towers

By row 5 the stage floor drops slightly below eye level and its front edge comes into view. For a balance of closeness and comfort, around row 5 beats row 1.

Angled view of the stage from floor 1, row 17, seat 25, at the far right end

Row 17, seat 25 is the far-right seat beside the wall and stairs. The angle is noticeable but the whole stage is in view, and the exit is right there. In a side block, seats 6 and 20, nearest the center, have the least angle.

View from the left wheelchair space in floor 1, row 20, with the floor 2 overhang above

The wheelchair spaces are at both ends of row 20, the back of floor 1. The floor 2 overhang closes in the top of the view, but the stage is visible edge to edge. For its own productions, the foundation gives a 50% discount to people with disabilities and to national, independence, 5.18 democratization and war veterans.

Is floor 2 of the Cosmos Theater worth it?

Floor 2 has only six rows, so it is not far from the stage, and looking down on the stage floor makes choreography and staging easy to follow. In row 1, though, the wooden railing crosses the view, and further back the railing and safety bar line up with the front edge of the stage.

View looking down on the stage from floor 2, row 1, seat 13, with the wooden railing across the bottom
View from floor 2, row 1, seat 13 (source: Guri Cultural Foundation)

Floor 2, row 1, seat 13 takes in the whole stage floor and the lighting rig, but the railing just clips the very front of the stage.

View from floor 2, row 4, seat 17: the whole stage beyond the railing and safety bar
View from floor 2, row 4, seat 17 (source: Guri Cultural Foundation)

Floor 2, row 4, seat 17: the railing and safety bar overlap the stage's front edge, but the full depth of the stage is clear. For many shows, floor 2 center beats the back corners of floor 1.

The seating chart on the foundation's Cosmos Theater page has view photos from these 15 points; check the one nearest your seat before booking.

  • Floor 1 (10): row 1 seat 13, row 3 seat 1, row 5 seat 16, row 6 seat 22, row 8 seat 10, row 10 seat 17, row 12 seat 3, row 14 seat 11, row 17 seat 25, left wheelchair space
  • Floor 2 (5): row 1 seat 13, row 2 seat 20, row 4 seat 6, row 4 seat 17, row 5 seat 25

One mismatch: on the seating chart, row 3 on floor 1 starts at seat 2, so there is no "row 3, seat 1". Treat that photo as the left end of row 3.

What should I know on the day of the show?

The foundation's FAQ recommends arriving 1 hour before the show to collect tickets, and doors to the auditorium usually open 20 minutes before. Be seated at least 10 minutes before the start; once the show begins, entry is restricted.

ItemDetails (official information, October 2026)
Ticket pickupArrive 1 hour early; bring your booking number, ID and any discount proof
Auditorium entryUsually from 20 minutes before; be seated 10 minutes before
Cloakroom40 minutes before the show to 10 minutes after; basement 1 small-theater lobby and beside the side door of the main theater (floor 1 seating); no valuables or bags
Nursing roomBasement 1, free, 10:00–17:00 (on show days until 10 minutes after the end), no childcare
CaféFloor 1; 10:00–18:00 on non-show days, until curtain on show days
CancellationUntil 5 pm the day before (11 am if that day is a Saturday)

The original blog post said the cloakroom opens 1 hour before the show; the official facilities page says 40 minutes before. Members of the foundation's website pay no booking fee (₩1,000 per ticket) for its own productions. Most shows do not admit preschool children, though children's shows may admit ages 24 months and up. Rental shows put on by outside promoters may use other ticket sites and discount rules.

In short

  1. With a same-day show ticket, parking is free from 1 hour before curtain to 1 hour after the show; after that it is ₩200 per 10 minutes.
  2. The Art Hall lot is cramped by the Guri Women's Hall construction. If it is full, use the Guri City Hall lots (same rate) or the 113-space temporary lot open since 27 August 2026.
  3. In the Cosmos Theater (600 seats officially, 605 numbered seats on the chart), floor 1 rows 8–14 center is the safe choice, and row 10 has the aisle in front.
