Musinsa Garage standing view: a late entry number is not a bad spot, and which seats to avoid at seated shows

A late standing number at Musinsa Garage does not mean you see nothing. Entry numbers set the order you go in, not where you stand, and the audience shares one flat 125 m² floor (the upper terrace is not sold), so your view depends on who is in front of you more than on your number.

Can you see the stage from a late standing number at Musinsa Garage?

Yes — a late standing number at Musinsa Garage (무신사 개러지), a live house in Hongdae, Seoul, does not mean you see nothing. The audience stands on a single floor below the stage, the stage is a step up from it, and there is a large LED screen behind the band. But the floor is completely flat, so from the back, whoever is in front of you decides how much of the stage floor you lose.

The floor plan gives the standing area as 125 m², and its dimensions put the front of the stage about 12.5 m from the FOH desk at the back. With all 550 inside, that is under 0.23 m² each — at the back, what matters is not distance but who is standing in front of you.

How many people does Musinsa Garage hold for standing shows?

Musinsa Garage holds at most 550 standing, with 500 recommended — paying audience and guests combined. Those figures are from the venue's 2026 rental and facility guide.

ItemOfficial figure
Standing, max / recommended550 / 500
Events where alcohol is allowed in450 max
Venue-held tickets (standing)Entry numbers 301–308, 8 tickets
Seated shows, max280 (274 excluding 6 venue-held seats)
Upper terraceNot sold to the public

How many tickets a show actually sells varies. Guests reduce the number on sale one for one — the chart's own example is 530 tickets with 20 invitations — so number 400 feels different at a 450-ticket show than at a 550-ticket one.

KOPIS, Korea's national performing-arts database, still lists Musinsa Garage at 144 seats, which does not match any current official figure. The venue's 2025 rental guide notes that the former stepped seating was removed on 10 June 2024, and the original Naver post put that stepped seating at 144. KOPIS's 144 looks like the pre-removal figure.

Does my entry number decide where I stand?

No. Musinsa Garage's official standing chart says the numbers show entry order and "have nothing to do with your actual position in the room". With number 350, you go in around 350th and stand wherever there is space.

The chart runs 1 to 550 in 22 rows of 25. Numbers 301–308 are held by the venue and never sold, so at most 542 are on sale.

What can you see from the back, and what gets blocked?

From the back you can usually see standing singers' and guitarists' upper bodies and the LED screen; seated players at stage level and anything done bent low at the stage front are easily blocked. According to the official facility and equipment guide as quoted in the original Naver post, the stage is about 0.9 m high and the LED screen behind it is 7.04 m wide by 2.56 m tall. We could not open the guide itself, so those figures are given as quoted.

The floor has no tiers: it does not rise towards the back, so the height of the person in front is exactly how much you lose. The more hands and phones go up at a show, the less you see from the back.

Where should I stand with a late number?

Stand half a step off-centre rather than dead centre at the back. Directly behind the middle, heads stack up in a line; move slightly to the side and gaps open up between people.

  • If sound matters most, stand near the FOH desk. The floor plan puts the sound desk (FOH) at the very back. Shows are usually mixed for what it sounds like at FOH, so you trade some view for the best balance.
  • The back under the terrace gets its own speakers. The official equipment list quoted in the original post includes under-balcony delay speakers (two L-Acoustics X8).
  • At shows using the LED screen, stand facing it. If the artist puts a live feed on screen, seeing the screen well matters more than seeing the stage floor.

Which seats should I avoid at a seated show?

At a seated Musinsa Garage show, avoid seats 17 and 18 in rows A, B and C. The official reserved-seating chart marks those six as possibly restricted-view and advises promoters not to sell them. They are front-row seats, but at the far right edge of the stage.

The chart's seat count reconciles with the official figures two ways.

RowsSeats
A–C (18 each)54
D–O (16 each)192
P and Q (14 each)28
R6
Total280

Rows A–O hold 246 seats; take away the six restricted-view seats and you get the official recommended sale of 240 (rows A–O). Add the 34 in rows P, Q and R for the 280 maximum. The chart also notes that 29CM is the venue's default ticketing partner.

How do I get to Musinsa Garage, and can I park there?

Musinsa Garage is in basement 1 of the Seomun Building, 32 Jandari-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Per its official website:

  • Hapjeong Station Exit 3: 6 minutes on foot
  • Sangsu Station Exit 1: 10 minutes on foot
  • Hongik University Station Exit 9: 12 minutes on foot
  • Concert-goers cannot use the building's car park. Park at a nearby public or paid car park and walk.

If you would rather not take a bag into a standing show, use a station locker. Hapjeong Station has 33 T-Lockers on Line 2 around Exits 1–4 and 25 on Line 6 towards Exits 5 and 6; Sangsu Station has 13 on Line 6 (Seoul Open Data Plaza, updated 3 October 2026). Locations are on our lockers near Musinsa Garage page.

In short

  1. Your entry number is your place in the queue, not on the floor. Even with a late number, find a gap off-centre and you will see upper bodies and the LED screen.
  2. The audience area is one flat 125 m² floor; the upper terrace is not sold to the public.
  3. At a seated show, seats 17 and 18 in rows A, B and C are restricted-view.

Capacity and seating details were checked on 6 October 2026 against Musinsa Garage's official website (2026 and 2025 rental and facility guides, seating charts, floor plan) and KOPIS venue records. Stage height, LED and sound-system figures are from the official facility and equipment guide as quoted in the original Naver post.
