명동난타극장 (Myeongdong Nanta Theater) is the dedicated house of NANTA, the non-verbal kitchen-percussion show, on the 3rd floor of the UNESCO Building at 26 Myeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul. It has run there as an open run since October 2009. The seat counts below were made by counting the seat map on the official NANTA booking page row by row. Prices, transit and parking were re-checked on 16 October 2026 against the official NANTA site and the Lotte Department Store main branch's parking terms. How many seats does Myeongdong Nanta Theater have?

Myeongdong Nanta Theater has 386 seats: 239 on the 1st floor (rows A–O) and 147 on the 2nd floor (rows P–W). By price tier that is 153 VIP seats, 140 S seats and 93 A seats.

The 386 matches the capacity registered for the theater in KOPIS, Korea's national performing-arts database, exactly. Re-adding the row counts by floor and by tier gives 386 both ways.

Where are the VIP, S and A seats, and what do they cost?

VIP is all nine rows B–J on the 1st floor, at a list price of ₩70,000. S seats are front row A plus rows K–O on the 1st floor and rows P–R on the 2nd, at ₩60,000. A seats are rows S–W on the 2nd floor, at ₩50,000.

Three ways to choose:

  1. The safe pick: centre seats in VIP rows B–J. The first nine rows are VIP. NANTA pulls audience members on stage, so if you want to be close to the action, this is the block.
  2. The value pick: row A and rows K–M (S tier). The very front row is S, not VIP, so you sit closest to the stage for ₩10,000 less, though you may be looking up. Rows K–M sit directly behind the VIP block and are the first fallback when VIP sells out.
  3. The budget pick: 2nd-floor A seats. Rows S–W are the cheapest at ₩50,000. Back row W has 21 seats, the longest row in the house.

Rows N and O at the very back of the 1st floor have only nine seats each; the control booth takes the rest of the width. The official site warns that seat availability differs between ticket sellers and changes often, so check the live seat map when you book.

What discounts does NANTA offer?

As of 16 October 2026, the official NANTA site prices an A seat (list ₩50,000) at ₩25,000–₩35,000 depending on the discount. The figures below are the A-seat prices the site shows.

Can you park at Myeongdong Nanta Theater?

No. The official NANTA site says the theater has no parking, recommends public transport, and tells drivers to use private car parks around Myeongdong. Arriving late because of parking or traffic does not entitle you to a change, cancellation or refund.

Take the Lotte Department Store main branch car park as an example. It charges ₩3,000 for the first 30 minutes and ₩1,000 per 10 minutes after that (Lotte main branch parking terms, checked 16 October 2026). The show runs 90 minutes; with ticket pick-up and seating, allow at least two hours.

Time parkedEstimated fee (no purchase discount)
2 hours₩12,000
2 hours 30 minutes₩15,000
3 hours₩18,000

Spending ₩50,000 in the store gives one free hour, ₩100,000 two hours and ₩150,000 three hours (three hours a day at most). The main building's car park runs 10:00–22:00. Outside those hours it charges a ₩6,000-per-hour night rate, and no discount applies. The 20:00 show ends around 21:30, so leave before 22:00 to avoid that rate.

The parking box on Lotte's main-branch web page shows figures such as "first 30 minutes free, one hour for ₩10,000 spent". The same box carries the Mia branch's address, so those are the Mia branch's rates. Use Article 4 of the main-branch parking terms further down the same page instead. The official NANTA site lists no partner or discounted car park.

How do I get to Myeongdong Nanta Theater by subway?

Most express buses from Gyeonggi-do stop at Myeongdong Kookmin Bank (02-253).

Is Myeongdong Nanta Theater wheelchair accessible?

Partly. There are two wheelchair spaces, seats 1 and 17 in front row A. The official site asks you to call +82-2-739-8288 before booking them. Entry is through the back door of the UNESCO Building, there are stairs you must manage yourself, and the aisle is narrow enough that you may have to switch to a manual wheelchair. The accessible toilet is on the ground floor.

What are the show times and house rules?

Shows run weekdays at 17:00 and 20:00, Saturdays at 14:00, 17:00 and 20:00, and Sundays and public holidays at 14:00 and 17:00, about 90 minutes each. Those times are from the official NANTA site. KOPIS also lists a 20:00 show on public holidays, so check the booking page for a holiday evening.
