Nonsan Art Center seating and parking: choosing a seat in the main and small halls

논산아트센터 (Nonsan Art Center) is the city-run arts centre at 270 Simin-ro, Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do. It opened in 1985 as the Nonsan Culture and Arts Hall and was later renamed. The box office line is +82-41-730-2932 and the rental and facilities line is +82-41-730-2933. How many seats do the main hall and the small hall have?

The main hall has 560 seats and the small hall 169. Those are the figures on the official facilities page, and the KOPIS registry we hold gives exactly the same two numbers. One wrinkle: the same website's rental page describes the small hall as "273㎡, 180 seats", so 169 and 180 coexist on the venue's own site. Go with 169, the number the facilities page and KOPIS agree on.

The building is reinforced concrete with a footprint of 2,615㎡ on a 10,091㎡ site, and the performance spaces are all on the ground floor, which measures 1,792㎡. The 403.5㎡ lobby is roomy enough that the interval crowd does not feel cramped.

Which main hall seats have the best view of the stage?

For a head-on view take centre block B, rows 5 to 10; for a clear sightline further back, take rear-centre block E. As the official seating-plan page describes it, blocks A (left), B (centre) and C (right) fill the front 16 rows, separated by aisles, with blocks D, E and F behind them, and there are five doors.

Counting the plan block by block gives 562 blue standard seats, plus 14 seats drawn in orange at the front of blocks A and C beside a wheelchair symbol. The plan alone cannot explain the two-seat gap from the official 560, so treat the booking screen's plan as the authority on what is actually sold.

Three things are worth knowing on a first visit. First, block B has ten seats per row against eight in A and C, so B seats 5 and 6 sit closest to the stage's centre line. Second, the orange seats at the front of A and C carry a wheelchair symbol and appear to be a separate zone that includes accessible seating. Third, block E row 6 is numbered but empty. The rear centre of a hall is usually where the lighting and sound desks go, so assume there is nothing behind E row 5.

How are the main hall's sound and screen set up?

Line-array speakers hang either side of the stage, and there is a full-width screen with a dedicated projector at the top of the rear wall. With 731.5㎡ of seating to 121.5㎡ of stage, the whole stage is visible from the rear D, E and F blocks; the front A, B and C blocks are the ones for reading faces.

Because the projector sits high on the rear wall, the beam passes over the back rows whenever video is shown. For a square-on view of the screen the centre blocks B and E are the ones to pick. Moving lights hang from the stage battens and are run from a separate lighting control room.

A line array spreads sound vertically, so volume varies little between front and back. The outermost seats (A seat 1, C seat 8) sit close to a speaker and can hear the mix leaning to one side, so for a concert where sound matters, stay central.

Where should I sit in the small hall?

With 169 seats, anywhere is close, and the true centre seats are the ones either side of the aisle: block A seats 8 and 9 and block B seats 1 and 2. The 24㎡ stage is a fifth the size of the main hall's, in a 273㎡ room, so even the back row is near.

The layout is simple: a centre aisle divides block A on the left from block B on the right, with row numbers 1 to 10 printed in the aisle. Counted from the plan, block A has 8 seats in row 1 and 9 in each of rows 2 to 10, and block B has 8 in row 1 and 9 in each of rows 2 to 9, which sums to exactly the official 169. Block B has no row 10.

There is no centre block, so "centre" means the aisle-side seat numbers. The front row holds four accessible seats marked with a wheelchair symbol, split between the right end of block A (seats 7 and 8) and the left end of block B (seats 1 and 2), reachable straight from the aisle. The small hall has its own sound desk at the back.

Is parking at Nonsan Art Center free?

As of September 2026 the official website publishes no parking rates or hours anywhere, so the only reliable answer comes from +82-41-730-2932. What can be confirmed is this. The KOPIS registry lists the venue as having a car park and accessible parking. The Korea Tourism Organization's accessible-travel listing records three disabled-parking bays, a ramp to the entrance, a step-free main entrance and an accessible toilet. And the facilities page's own numbers, a 2,615㎡ building on a 10,091㎡ site, mean the building covers about a quarter of the plot, with surface parking on the rest.

No published rate does not mean free. This is a venue that posted sell-out notices in 2026 for productions such as 사의 찬미 and the Philharmonic Ensemble New Year concert, so for a sold-out show aim to arrive 30 minutes early.

Are there lockers, and where do I ask about lost property?

There is no coin-locker service, so leave large bags in the car. Lost property is held by the Culture and Performance Team in the second-floor office, and the official website's procedure is below.

If you lose something at a weekend show, you will need to call during Monday's office hours. The 44.5㎡ reception room is for performers and guests, not an audience lounge.

What should I check before booking?

Check which building the performance is in. Some shows sold through the Nonsan Art Center website take place at 건양대 문화콘서트홀 (Konyang University Concert Hall), and the website's seating-plan menu carries that hall's plan alongside its own.

The Konyang hall's capacity depends on who you ask. Adding up the block totals on the seating plan gives 770 seats downstairs and 273 upstairs, 1,043 in all. Konyang University's own facilities page says 1,000 seats, and the KOPIS registry value on our Konyang University venue page is 1,200 with 14 accessible seats. Which of the three is on sale for a given show is something only that show's booking screen can settle.

The plan colour-codes A seats, B seats, the upper level and unsold seats, so ticket grades can be read before booking. Other points confirmed from the official notices:

• Book on the Nonsan Art Center website by opening a performance and pressing the reserve button.
• 문화누리카드 (Munhwa Nuri culture vouchers) are accepted, per a notice dated 14 April 2026.
• Bookings paid by virtual account that are not settled are cancelled in one batch at 08:40 the next morning.
• The etiquette guide asks that children under seven not be brought except to children's shows, where each show's own notice applies.
• Rental slots run 09:00 to 12:00, 13:00 to 17:00 and 18:00 to 22:00, so evening shows fall in the night slot.
