Can you see from the back at a Songdo Convensia concert? Seat views, parking rates, gates and zones (October 2026)
Concerts at Songdo Convensia are staged in flat exhibition halls 1 to 4 with no fixed seating, so the back of the floor sees a small, distant stage; a temporary tiered stand, the front row of a floor block or a block facing a screen helps most. Since 1 July 2026 parking costs 1,500 won per 30 minutes, up to 24,000 won a day, with no discount for concertgoers.

At the back of a Songdo Convensia concert, expect to watch the big screens more than the stage. Songdo Convensia, a convention centre in Incheon's Songdo International City, has no fixed auditorium: each show builds its stage and lays its chairs on the flat floor of an exhibition hall. Everything below was checked in October 2026 against Songdo Convensia's official facility overview, parking page, FAQ and parking-rate notice.
Which hall at Songdo Convensia are concerts held in?
Concerts at Songdo Convensia take one or two of exhibition halls 1 to 4. Every hall has a flat floor, so there is no fixed "best row", and the seating chart is drawn afresh for each show. The official event photo gallery records concerts by Lim Young-woong and Young Tak in October 2025, Lee Chang-sub in November, and Jang Min-ho plus the KBS Song Festival in December, all in these halls.

According to Songdo Convensia's exhibition hall overview, all four halls are 89 m deep and hold 4,500 to 5,500 people each in theatre layout.
| Hall | Area | Width × depth | Ceiling | Theatre max |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hall 1 | 4,208 m² | 45 × 89 m | 14.1–31.5 m | 5,000 |
| Hall 2 | 4,208 m² | 45 × 89 m | 14.1–31.5 m | 5,000 |
| Hall 3 | 4,165 m² | 44 × 89 m | 15 m | 4,500 |
| Hall 4 | 4,440 m² | 45 × 89 m | 15 m | 5,500 |
| Total | 17,021 m² | 179 × 89 m | - | 20,000 |
Those are the venue's maximums; a real concert seats fewer, depending on the stage and layout. Halls 1 and 2 opened with phase one in October 2008 and halls 3 and 4 with phase two in July 2018. Halls 1 and 2 sit under an arched roof that rises to 31.5 m.
KOPIS, Korea's national performing-arts database, lists Songdo Convensia as two stages: "송도컨벤시아" with 5,000 seats and "전시장 3,4홀" (halls 3 and 4) with 0. The 5,000 matches the theatre maximum of hall 1 or hall 2 alone, but halls 3 and 4 carry no seat count there, so use the venue's own figures (4,500 and 5,500). The website KOPIS still lists, songdoconvensia.com, now redirects to the official site at songdoconvensia.visitincheon.or.kr.

Check which hall your show is in before you book: as explained below, it decides which underground parking zone is closest. Incheon Free Economic Zone is also planning a phase-three expansion of three more exhibition halls (14,000 m²), with construction targeted for 2029, according to Seoul Economic Daily and Kyeongin Ilbo. As of October 2026, concerts use halls 1 to 4 only.
How much of the stage can you see from the back of the floor?
From the back of the floor at Songdo Convensia, performers look small and the heads in front block the view often. The floor is almost completely level, and with halls 89 m deep, the last rows can sit several tens of metres from a stage set against the short wall.

- Every chair is at the same height. Pre-show photos show identical chairs laid flat from the first row to the last.
- The screens become the show. In official photos taken from the back, the side screens look far bigger than anyone on stage.
- Standing sections block the view. If the crowd stands, shorter fans do better in a stand or at the front of a block.
Which seats should you pick if you are near the back?
Even in the back sections, a temporary tiered stand, the front row of a floor block, or a block facing a screen makes a real difference, and so does avoiding the rows right behind the sound desk or a steel tower. This is general guidance drawn from official photos and the hall specifications; the actual view depends on each show's staging and layout.
A temporary stand is the first choice
Photos from an October 2025 concert show tiered stands built along the side of the hall. They are far from the stage, but you look over the heads in front at the whole stage, which often beats the back of the floor. Not every show has them, so check the seating chart for a stand.

The front row of a block has nothing in front of it
The floor is split into blocks such as "B-3", separated by fences and aisles. The first row behind an aisle has open space in front and the clearest view in that block.

Think about the screen angle
The further back you are, the more you rely on the screens. From the outer seats of a side block the far screen is at a sharp angle, so a central block, or one facing the nearer screen, works better.

Avoid the rows right behind the sound desk or a tower
When the sound and lighting desk sits in the middle of the floor, the rows just behind it lose the bottom of the view to equipment and crew. Televised shows may also put steel lighting or camera towers on the floor. An empty rectangle on the seating chart is often one of these.

| Seat type | Upside | Downside | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Temporary stand | Raked, so you see the whole stage | Far away; not at every show | Shorter fans, or anyone who wants the full staging |
| Front row of a floor block | Open space in front | Busy aisle | Back sections where the view still matters |
| Central rear floor | Faces the screens, balanced sound | Heads in front block the stage | Fans happy to watch the screens |
| Right behind desk or tower | - | Equipment in the sightline | Avoid if you can |
How much does parking at Songdo Convensia cost?
Parking at Songdo Convensia costs 1,500 won per 30 minutes, up to 24,000 won a day, since 1 July 2026, and leaving within the first 30 minutes is free. The venue's parking-rate notice says the old rate was 1,000 won per 30 minutes with a 10,000 won daily cap, and that it was raised after continuing complaints about traffic congestion. The official FAQ states there is no discount for exhibition or convention visitors, so concertgoers pay the full rate.
| Time parked | Car fee |
|---|---|
| Up to 30 minutes | Free |
| 1 hour | 3,000 won |
| 2 hours | 6,000 won |
| 3 hours | 9,000 won |
| 4 hours | 12,000 won |
| 5 hours | 15,000 won |
| 8 hours or more | 24,000 won (daily cap) |
These are worked examples in 30-minute steps; the exit barrier has the final say. Budget 12,000 won for a four-hour stay including the wait.
Songdo Convensia's parking page lists 1,285 spaces in all.
| Type | Surface | Underground | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 435 | 723 | 1,158 |
| Compact | 17 | 21 | 38 |
| Accessible | 11 | 36 | 47 |
| EV | 6 | 21 | 27 |
| Large vehicle | 15 | - | 15 |
| Total | 484 | 801 | 1,285 |
Compact, low-emission, disabled-badge and national-merit vehicles get 50% off, and electric cars get one hour free while charging. Discounts do not stack; only the larger one applies.
- Hours: surface car park 24 hours; underground car park 6:00 to 2:00 the next morning
- Height limit: nothing 2.1 m or taller in the underground car park
- Payment: card or mobile pay at the pre-pay machines inside the building or at the exit booth; cash only at the parking office
- Contact: Songdo Convensia parking office 032-210-1170, main line 032-210-1114
Bear in mind that on a concert night 1,285 spaces are far fewer than the audience.
Which gate should you use and where should you park on a concert day?
For a show in hall 1 or 2, park in the Blue zone on basement level 1; for hall 3 or 4, the Green zone is closest. The underground car park is entered from Gates A and B (north side, on Central-ro) and Gate G (south side, on Technopark-ro); the surface car park from Gates E and F.

| Gate | Use |
|---|---|
| Gates A and B (north, Central-ro) | Underground car park entrance |
| Gate G (south, Technopark-ro) | Underground car park entrance |
| Gates E and F | Surface car park entrance |
| Gate C | Underground car park exit only |
| Gate D | Loading dock for coaches and lorries |
A car that enters through Gate D pays the loading-dock rate of 3,000 won per 30 minutes, up to 48,000 won a day, so avoid it.
The official FAQ divides basement level 1 into coloured zones.
| B1 zone | Nearest to |
|---|---|
| Blue | Exhibition halls 1, 2 and 3 |
| Green | Exhibition halls 3 and 4 |
| Purple | Meeting rooms, hall 1, Premier Ballroom |
| Orange | Shops, Grand Ballroom, meeting rooms |
On the official underground parking map the Blue zone runs alongside halls 1 and 2 and the Green zone alongside halls 3 and 4, so for a hall 3 show the boundary between them is closest. The website's alt text for that map lists the zones as "ORANGE, PURPLE, BLUE, YELLO", but both the map and the FAQ say Green; yellow marks compact-car bays. The parking office is on the hall 1 side of the underground car park.
When should you arrive and leave to avoid the parking crush?
Cars pile in just before the show and pile out right after it, so arrive early and, on the way out, pay in advance or wait a while before leaving. The tips below are our own recommendations based on how the car park and its rates work, not official guidance.
- Arrive 90 minutes to 2 hours before the show. With the fee rising every 30 minutes it pays off only if you plan to queue for merchandise or eat; two extra hours cost 6,000 won.
- Park in the zone for your hall. Blue for halls 1 and 2, Green for halls 3 and 4.
- Use a pre-pay machine. It saves the queue stalling while drivers pay at the exit booth.
- Leave straight after the show, or wait 30 minutes or more. Moving the moment the encore ends puts you near the front; leaving late lets the jam clear first.
- The underground car park closes at 2:00. If you will stay very late, the 24-hour surface car park is the safer choice.
How do you get to Songdo Convensia by subway or bus?
Public transport is the surest option. Songdo Convensia is about a 10-minute walk from exit 4 of Incheon National University Station on Incheon Line 1. Buses listed on the official directions page:
| Stop | Routes |
|---|---|
| 송도컨벤시아 (Songdo Convensia) | Trunk 6-1, 8, 82, 9; express 1301, M6724 |
| 송도더샵 (Songdo The Sharp) | Trunk 6-1, 8, 82, 9; express 1301, M6724 |
| 포스코타워 (POSCO Tower) | Trunk 16; express 3022; seated 780-1 |
| 인천대입구역.롯데몰 (Incheon Nat'l Univ. Stn / Lotte Mall) | Express M6450 |
The official page also suggests exit 3 of Dongmak Station on Incheon Line 1 and a transfer to bus 8, 6, 6-1 or 780.
Are there lockers at Songdo Convensia?
Yes, but only 36. Songdo Convensia's locker page lists one electronic locker unit each in front of the ground-floor information desk, at the rear entrance of the Head House, and at the Hall 4 entrance: 20 small and 16 large compartments in all. They cost 1,000 won for 24 hours and take 100-won coins only. Bulky items can be left at the Premium Lounge beside Hall 1 for 7,000 won for the first two hours and 2,000 won per extra hour, closed Mondays (032-715-5645, per the official amenities FAQ). Against a concert crowd, 36 lockers is very few, so travel light.
Does Songdo Convensia have upper-level seats for concerts?
Songdo Convensia has no fixed balcony or second-tier seating. Concerts are held on the single-level exhibition hall floor, and the only raked seats are temporary stands built for some shows. Check the seating chart on the booking page for a stand.
