Rechecked against the official Seoul Arts Center (예술의전당) website on 29 September 2026. The lockers at Seoul Arts Center, in Seocho-gu, Seoul, come in two separate systems — the performance halls (the Music Hall and the Opera House) and the exhibition buildings (Hangaram Design Museum and Seoul Calligraphy Museum) — and they differ in operator, price, hours and who may use them. Seats and parking are covered in our Concert Hall seat view guide, IBK Chamber Hall seat view guide and Seoul Arts Center parking guide; this post is only about lockers.
Are the lockers at Seoul Arts Center free, and how much do they cost?
No locker at Seoul Arts Center is free. The performance-hall lockers are a flat 1,000 won per use. The exhibition lockers cost 1,000 won (small) or 2,000 won (medium and large) for the first two hours, with an hourly surcharge after that; the official page does not state the surcharge amount.
| Performance-hall lockers | Exhibition lockers | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | 3 in the Music Hall, 6 in the Opera House | Hangaram Design Museum B1, Seoul Calligraphy Museum 1F |
| Price | 1,000 won per use | 2 hours: small 1,000 won / medium–large 2,000 won, then hourly surcharge |
| Hours | 30 min before the show to 20 min after it ends | Design Museum 09:00–22:00, Calligraphy Museum 09:00–19:00 (closed Mondays) |
| Who may use | Ticket holders only (terms, art. 3) | No restriction stated |
| Help and refunds | 1666-2098 | Saenu Co. 1899-4711 |
Where are the lockers for the exhibitions?
The official exhibition-services page lists only two banks: in front of the lift on B1 of Hangaram Design Museum and in front of the lift on 1F of Seoul Calligraphy Museum. The Design Museum bank stays open until 22:00, which makes it the only exhibition locker you can use around an evening concert. Both are unavailable on Mondays, when the exhibition buildings close.
Hangaram Art Museum's main building (floors 1–3) is closed for remodelling from 2 October 2025 to 31 December 2026 (scheduled). Several blogs, and the Naver post this guide started from, describe lockers on B1 and in the 2F lobby of Hangaram Art Museum; the official page lists none there, and the main building cannot be entered at present. Gallery 7 of Hangaram Art Museum, underground in Vitamin Station, stays open, but no locker near it appears in the official information either.

Where exactly are the lockers in the concert halls and theatres?
There are three banks in the Music Hall and six in the Opera House. Use the one in the building where your show is; it is the shortest walk.
| Building | Locker banks |
|---|---|
| Music Hall | 1F outside IBK Chamber Hall, 1F outside the Concert Hall, B1 beside Inchun Art Hall |
| Opera House | 1F beside the Opera Theater box office, 1F inner lobby, 1F outer lobby, 2F beside the CJ Towol Theater box office, 3F beside CJ Towol Theater, Jayu Theater lobby |
The official information gives no locker counts. One visitor's blog from January 2025 counted 48 outside IBK Chamber Hall, 72 outside the Concert Hall and 46 beside Inchun Art Hall; Seoul Arts Center has not confirmed those numbers.

Who can use the performance-hall lockers, and how do you pay?
Under Seoul Arts Center's electronic locker terms of use, the performance-hall lockers are for ticket holders only and only for keeping belongings during the show. You pay on your mobile phone; the storage agreement takes effect once you have paid, put your things in the locker you chose and shut the door fully. If you have not paid, or the door is not properly closed, no agreement exists.
- Forcing an oversized bag in and pushing the door shut can break the locker or jam it on collection, and the damage is charged to you.
- If carelessness means the maintenance contractor (UB Locker) has to come out, a 30,000 won call-out fee plus repair costs can be charged.
- If the locker will not recognise you on collection, call 1666-2098; if that does not solve it, ask the house manager.
- Step-by-step instructions are posted beside each bank.
What can't you leave in the lockers?
Article 9 of the terms bans the following, and Seoul Arts Center accepts no liability for loss involving them:
- Cash, securities, precious metals, or valuables worth 100,000 won or more
- Firearms, explosives, flammables, hazardous materials, poisons
- Food that smells or may spoil
- Animals, or anything that expands
- Anything weighing 30 kg or more, or so bulky the door has to be forced shut
The official services page does ask you to store food and bulky items that could bother others in the auditorium — but as below, uncollected food is thrown away at once.
What happens if you collect your things late after the show?
The performance-hall lockers close 20 minutes after your show ends. Anything still inside is removed and handed to the Service Plaza as lost property; food is not kept but discarded immediately. Lost property is held for a period under Seoul Arts Center's rules and then passed to the police, donated or disposed of.
Sources disagree on the Service Plaza's hours. The locker terms PDF says "Mon 09:00–18:00 / Tue–Sun 09:00–20:00, open all year", but the current performance-services page and the notice "Service Plaza and call centre closed on Mondays" both say Tuesday to Sunday 09:00–20:00, closed every Monday and on Seollal and Chuseok. Go by the newer Monday closure: if you leave something behind after a Sunday evening show, expect to collect it on Tuesday.
Where can you leave a suitcase or other large luggage?
The performance-hall lockers come in a single size and cannot take anything over 30 kg or too big for the door. The exhibition lockers have medium and large compartments (2,000 won for two hours), so on any day but Monday the Hangaram Design Museum B1 bank, open until 22:00, is the latest place on the grounds to leave a big bag.
Off site, Nambu Bus Terminal station on Line 3 has 21 lockers (15 small, 2 medium, 4 large) under the stairs near Exits 5 and 6 on B2. The four-hour base rate is 2,200 won small or 4,400 won large on weekdays and 3,100 or 6,100 won at weekends, with an hourly surcharge after that (Seoul Metro listing, September 2026). Lockers at other stations are on our subway locker finder.
