Suwon Convention Center Seats and Parking: the Rate Went Up (9,000 Won for 3 Hours)

What does parking at Suwon Convention Center cost now?

500 won per 10 minutes, capped at 10,000 won a day. The venue’s own parking page states 3,000 won for the first hour, 6,000 for two and 9,000 for three, which is exactly 500 won per 10 minutes. Suwon’s grade-1 municipal tariff applies.

One number here actually matters to a concert-goer. Divide the 10,000 won daily cap by 500 won per 10 minutes and you get 20 units, or 3 hours 20 minutes. Including queueing in and out, a concert visit almost always passes that, so treat parking at Suwon Convention Center as a flat 10,000 won.

The gap against the widely repeated older figures is not small.

The free turnaround window grew too. Leave within 20 minutes, measured at the exit terminal, and you pay nothing; go past it and the full rate applies including those 20 minutes.

Payment is card only — credit, debit, transit cards and Samsung Pay, no cash. Vans of 15 to under 25 seats, goods vehicles of 2.5 to under 4.5 tonnes, and anything of comparable size cannot enter the underground car park.

Who qualifies for a parking discount?

The official table has four tiers, and the categories are not the ones usually quoted. National merit holders and severely disabled drivers are not in the free tier — they get 24 hours free then 50%. The free tier covers exemplary and diligent taxpayers only.

For the length of a single concert, the 24-hour and 2-hour exemptions are effectively a full waiver. The multi-child discount is 50% from two children upward, regardless of how many, and military merit families also get 50%. Where two discounts overlap, only the larger one applies.

Automatic recognition only fires when the discount holder owns the car. If a passenger is the qualifying person, press the call button at the terminal and speak to the parking office for a manual adjustment.

How do I avoid the queue to get out after a show?

Pay in advance. The centre has several unattended pre-payment terminals, spread — per the official location map — across the third floor by Convention Hall (Gate 3), the ground floor by Exhibition Hall (Gate 4), the loading dock, and basement levels 1 and 2. Enter the last four digits of your plate and pay by card on your way through the lobby.

If you are claiming a discount, the pre-payment terminal still requires you to have your proof card ready, press the call button and speak to the parking office. If automatic recognition fails you have to go to the parking office on level 2, so settle up with time in hand rather than right at the end of the show.

Where do I park if the centre car park is full?

The centre names two nearby car parks, and their tariffs differ sharply.

Galleria Gwanggyo gives free hours against spend: one hour over 30,000 won, two over 50,000, three over 100,000 and five over 200,000, plus three hours for a CGV screening or a culture-centre class the same day. But at 1,000 won per 10 minutes it is twice the centre’s underground rate, so there is no reason to move your car there unless you are shopping.

The Jungheung S-Class mall car park is at 277 Gwanggyo Hosugongwon-ro, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon. Search TMAP for "광교 어뮤즈스퀘어 1GATE" or Kakao Navi for "광교중흥S클래스 어뮤즈스퀘어 주차장".

One trap: Outback and Miz Container inside the centre belong to Galleria, and per the official notice their parking discount applies only if you used the Galleria department store car park. Parking in the centre’s own basement and eating at either gets you nothing.

How long does it take by subway?

Ten minutes on foot from Exit 4 of Gwanggyo Jungang Station on the Shinbundang Line. Per the directions page, Gangnam Station to Gwanggyo Jungang takes 35 minutes.

The local-bus stop, Suwon Convention Center · Lotte Outlet, is the closest at three minutes. Route 8877 from Incheon Airport boards at Gate 7 on level 1 of Terminal 1 and Gate 40 on basement level 1 of the Terminal 2 transport centre; the last bus to Suwon leaves T1 at 22:20 and T2 at 22:00.

Is my show in the Exhibition Hall or the Convention Hall?

Suwon Convention Center has no fixed seating. It is an exhibition and convention venue, not a theatre, so the promoter designs the chairs and stage afresh for each event and there is no such thing as a reliably good row. Only two spaces can host a concert: the ground-floor Exhibition Hall and the third-floor Convention Hall.

Our own data answers something here. All four events KOPIS records at Suwon Convention Center were held in the ground-floor Exhibition Hall: Yang Hee-eun’s Christmas concert in December 2025, Lee Changsub’s solo concert EndAnd and Yim Jae-beum’s 40th anniversary concert in January 2026, and Mumyeong Jeonseol’s Christmas concert in December 2026. Not one KOPIS-registered performance has taken place in the Convention Hall.

Why do sources disagree on the Exhibition Hall’s capacity?

Because the official spec table does not publish one. The detail table on the centre’s Exhibition Hall page lists area and floor load only — there is no capacity column. It gives an exhibition figure instead: 406 booths at 3m × 3m.

KOPIS, meanwhile, holds 7,000 seats for the Exhibition Hall. The two numbers measure different things — 7,877㎡ is floor area, 7,000 is a performance capacity — and neither is the number of seats on sale for any particular show.

Even within one page the figures wobble slightly. The photo caption on the Exhibition Hall page reads "7,800sqm, 450booth" while the spec table immediately below says 7,877㎡ and 406 booths. It looks like rounded marketing copy sitting next to the drawing-based figures; cite the table.

The subdivision figures reconcile cleanly. Three-way: 2,095 + 3,657 + 2,125 = 7,877㎡. Two-way: 4,177 + 3,700 = 7,877㎡. Both match the whole-hall area exactly.

Which seats should I pick in the Convention Hall?

The floor is flat, so how far back you are is everything. The Convention Hall has a 30m × 5m motorised stage lift, specified at either 1m or 1.4m high. A seated person’s eye level is roughly 1.2m, so even at 1.4m the performers’ lower halves disappear behind the heads in front as you go back.

How deep your show will be depends on how the hall is divided.

For a 1,000-capacity show in hall 1 alone, even the back row is close. For a 2,900-capacity show filling all 68 metres of width, the far side seats look at the stage from a sharp angle. The bigger the stated capacity, the more it pays to aim for the centre block.

Screens run to one 600-inch recessed and three 500-inch and two 300-inch motorised units, so back rows are at least covered visually. The Convention Hall has no internal columns, so nothing structural blocks a sightline.

What should I watch out for in the Exhibition Hall?

Columns. The legend on the official ground-floor plan marks column icons at two points inside the hall. For an Exhibition Hall show, find the column markings on the ticketing site’s seating chart first and avoid the seats directly behind that line.

Promoters often leave the area around a column as an aisle or sell it separately as restricted view. Before taking a restricted-view discount, ask how much is actually obstructed.

The Exhibition Hall is not simply the worse room. At 124.5m × 61.8m it is more than twice the Convention Hall, and its 3t/㎡ floor load lets a promoter build a much higher stage and leave more space between rows. The ceiling is 12m.

Can I eat inside the centre before a show?

Yes — the centre’s tenant facilities include several restaurants and cafés, most open well before showtime.

Hours can shift with the centre’s event schedule. Lotte Mall and Galleria Gwanggyo are next door if you want more choice.

1. Parking is 500 won per 10 minutes, 9,000 won for three hours, 10,000 won a day. Anything still quoting 400 won per 10 minutes is out of date, and a concert hits the daily cap after 3 hours 20 minutes.
